Our seventh Trike, W & W -  W. No 010. A Type4 Wickham Railcar that was built in England, sometime in 1955.

I found this one on eBay and was located in Portland. The man I bought it off said he got it from a scrap dealer after a clean out of the Lithgow Loco Depot.

010 is not it’s original fleet number, no identification plate were on the trike. The number comes from a plate from another Wickham though.

A bit more complete that when 617 was found. This one had been converted from the J.A.P engine to the Wisconsin. All that is missing to make it run is the engine and clutch. More effort will be placed in finding the right clutch for this one. The centrifugal clutch is great but it’s not the real thing. The engine will be pulled from the 60/113 project as I can not get hold of a cab for it for now.

All new timber work is needed and a new shield and wiring. It looks to have been overhauled not to long before it was put out of service. The wheels are good, the brake shoe are near new and the wheel bearings are smooth and quiet. After seeing what bearing failure looks like in one of theses boxes the gearbox will be split off the axle and inspected.

 CURRENT STATUS:  Under restoration.
