by Greg Lee |
|
Foreword to Second Edition
Some of the information contained in this article has been gleaned from conversations with old railwaymen. It has not been possible to verify all of the information, and so the absolute correctness of some details cannot be guaranteed.
Track vehicles ("trikes") were mainly used by the Way and Works Branch, although they were also used by other branches, notably the Signal and Telegraph branch. This is concerned only with trike usage by the Way and Works branch.
The names of the people who have provided specific information are acknowledged at the end of each chapter.
Formal referencing has not yet been done, nor has a bibliography been included. These improvements will be included in the Third Edition.
This article may not be reproduced in its entirety, by any means, without the prior written permission of the publisher. Limited extracts from the booklet may be reproduced without the permission of the publisher, provided that the source is clearly acknowledged. |
